Whether it’s the return of fan-favorite monsters or the introduction of brand-new creatures based on Japanese legend, you’ll need to be quick and master each monster’s individual tendencies if you want to reap any of the rewards (including the iconic wyvern Magnamalo).
Take your pick and show off your skills.
Whether you’re playing up close or from afar, you can wield 14 different types of weapons, each offering a new way to play the game. Gracefully eliminate enemies with the longsword; transform into a deadly maelstrom of blades using the swift dual blades; charge with the punishing spear; or take aim from afar using bows and crossbows. The Great Sword is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. You have access to a wide variety of weapons in this game, and these are just a few examples; as a result, you should have no trouble finding the one that works best for you.
Find your way to the top of the food chain by hunting, gathering, and crafting.
Resources to craft new weapons and armor and upgrade your existing ones will be dropped by each creature you kill during your hunts. Return to the battlefield to hunt even more dangerous creatures and earn even more desirable rewards. You can swap out your weapon in any of the Equipment Boxes at any time, giving you an almost infinite number of options to choose from.
Take on monsters alone or as a team.
Hunter Hub has cooperative multiplayer objectives where groups of up to four players can work together to eliminate common enemies. Scaling difficulties ensure that every encounter is a level playing field, whether it’s just one player against the world or a full team of four.
Experience a gripping new story set in Kamura Village.
This tranquil setting is home to a vibrant collection of residents, many of whom have spent their entire lives living in fear of the Rampage, a cataclysmic event where scores of monsters attack the hamlet at once. It’s been 50 years since the previous Rampage, and you’ll need to work with the locals to face this test.
Using the Wirebug will allow you to experiment with new hunting techniques.
A hunter’s toolbox should always include wirebugs as a key ingredient. The special silk these enemies fire can be used to block walls and areas, and can even be used to perform special attacks specific to each of the game’s 14 different weapon types.
Companions are available to help.
The Palico Felyne companions you already know and love from past Monster Hunter adventures are joined by brand new Palamute Canyne companions in this installment of the Monster Hunter series.
