A Fascinating Story
For 300 years, Rena ruled Dahna, plundering the planet's resources and stripping people of their dignity and freedom. Our story begins with two people born on different worlds, each wanting to change their destiny and create a new future. Featuring a diverse cast of characters, an intuitive and rewarding combat system, and a captivating story set in a lush world, Tales of Arise delivers a world-class JRPG experience.
17th Main Title in the Tales Series
Since its first appearance in 1995 The Tales JRPG has been going from strength to strength and I'm pleased to say that thankfully Tales of Arise is no exception. The game is an excellent addition to the series that will win over old and new players alike. Incredibly, Tales of Arise is the 17th main game in the Tales series and it is as bold as all its predecessors, with its overhauled visuals and well-developed plot, full of the surprises that the Tales series has become famous for and with extra additions that guarantee the most incredible experience.
Story Begins
The story begins in a labor camp, where a slave miner is brutally treated by one of the sadistic guards. This is where we first meet our hero Iron Mask (voiced by the talented voice actor Sean Edward Chiplock.) He is known for his English version of Japanese anime and games). After saving the Dahnan slave from certain death in the Mines of Calaglia, we quickly learn that the Dahna people have been subjugated by the cruel and technologically advanced Renans and are used as slave labor by their overlords to extract valuable resources.
Your Epic Journey Begins Your epic journey
It starts here, you must use your determination and skill to finally put an end to the corrupt regime and liberate the lands of the Renan exploiters. Iron Mask's name is actually Alphen, a man with no memory of his past, unable to feel any physical pain. Shortly into the story, he encounters a woman in distress named Shionne Imeris, who is on the run from a group of ruthless Renans after the two help her combine their powers and seriously advance the quest. The pair travel through the various regions of Dahnan, each controlled by different lords and each with their own individual methods of oppressing the natives.
Tales of Arise Set in a Stunning World
Bandai Namco has built a reputation for beautiful anime aesthetics and great storytelling with Tale's series of visually elegant and, as always, very fun to play games. A new progressive difficulty gameplay mechanic means you can unleash devastating combos straight off the bat, but as you hone your need for timing, both your offensive and defensive moves radically increase, and knowing how to tactically use your friend's special skills at the right moment becomes vital. Tales of Arise, like its predecessors, is set in a fascinating world, divided into different unique realms, each with its own individual design, from snowy mountains to lush grasslands and volcanic wastelands, each visually appealing and with its own problems to overcome.
Instant Success with Newcomers
Engaging, thought-provoking and incredibly emotional, a great story will immerse you in the dystopian world of Dahnan. Impressive graphics, mesmerizing animation and immersive gameplay that will keep you engaged from start to finish. Tales of Arise is certainly the best outing the series has ever produced and makes a huge leap forward with the release of powerful next-gen consoles that greatly reduce load times and offer clearer, sharper graphics, but doesn't disappoint even on older machines. Players familiar with the Tales series and newcomers to the series will find instant success with the game.
