Break Castillo’s Broken Rule
You join the game as the main character Dani Rojas, who is trying to escape Antón Castillo’s brutal regime after things go completely awry. You wash up on land as the sole survivor of a failed flight attempt, and quickly join the ranks of a small revolutionary group called Libertad, who are looking to overthrow Castillo’s corrupt rule once and for all. After leaving the safety of the Libertad compound, you make your way to the vast open world of Yara, which you are free to explore in whatever order you see fit. Along your journey, you’ll encounter a diverse collection of characters, including Jawson Brody, an unpredictable explosives expert and a hilltop freedom fighter nicknamed El Tigre from The Legends of ’67 who still has aspirations of finally bringing freedom to Yara.
Star-Studded Voice Talent
Giancarlo Esposito’s portrayal of Antón Castillo is incredible, bringing the most convincing villain to life with both his voice and face. Calculating and stern, our anti-hero is completely contemptuous of those around him and seems only to tolerate the presence of his son Diego, who himself is torn between pleasing his domineering father and empathizing with the revolutionaries and their struggles. In addition to the star-studded voice talent they’ve received, another highlight of the game is the addition of the Analyzer Weapons, which are weapons that can be assembled or used on a daily basis. The Tostador is a flamethrower and the Discos Locos are incredible CD-ROM disc launchers, and that’s before we even get to the Supremo Weapons, which have an even more devastating rear design.
